We are loving our Saturday Morning
ONLY Project! What gets done, gets done. Nothing more. We stop at noon or earlier if a stage is finished before noon. Makes it much easier to face a weekend project when you know there is a time limit.
Warren is pretty much the worker-bee at this point. I can't do the hard physical labor that he can.
We are happy to report the worst is now over. Especially since Warren figured out there is a solvent for the nasty glue that held the subfloor down., which we have to replace with concrete backer board, eventually.

But next week, the project will probably be just to remove the glue left behind and maybe measure for the concrete backer board and figure out which thickness to buy given the height of the backer board and the height of the tile, plus the mastic.
That's it from the home front, folks. Cats are out from their hiding places, enjoying the fireplace. It's 5 above zero out but we don't care!

what a smart way to do this! i could handle a project, too, i think, if i knew a couple hours was all i had to do.
although i think our way was slightly better than yours....we hired it out!

I think our project is going to take us a looong time. By the time we're done, we're gonna have to be outside doing spring yard work. Maybe I can "farm" him out next year.
