A common sound in the neighborhood a couple months after the ice storm is the chain saw, buzzing away as homeowners clear out the damage caused by the ice storm.
Not one, and I mean this, NOT ONE, home with trees escaped the loss of tree limbs, either a few or a lot. The city is scheduled to start picking up tree limbs at the curb on Feb. 4th. About half the population has already removed the tree limbs to the city's drop off point. That means if you drive around any neighborhood in the city, and I mean ANY neighborhood, you will see massive brush piles at the curb of about every other house on the street. Below are several snapshots I took just driving up the street from our house. Amazing...

Oh, all that firewood!
We missed your birthday again, didn't we? Aargh! I suck at birthdays. Eric's is on Sunday, and I haven't done anything. Gaa!
Anyway, happy belated again birthday. You're too cool for words.
Heavens, don't worry about that! I'm not counting anymore, anyways!
You're too kewl for words, too! I adore you! It is a sadness in my life that I don't live in the same city as you do. I think we could have had a good life helping each other out, sharing life's adventures--except for cave sleeping, I would have drawn the line at that.
